- We mow between the months of April and October.
- We have two identical roadside mowers with 50-inch, heavy-duty flail mower heads that can reach out 18 feet in total length.
- Our two mowers mow an average of 400 miles combined during our mow season.
- We have eight trained and skilled operators for our mowers.
The grass is starting to grow, and City crews are getting the large roadside mowers out and tackling the “ mow lines ” in areas where larger equipment is required. We take pride in taming the grass and keeping Kirkland looking tidy.
However, it’s a challenge for our operators when vehicles follow too closely or pass when it is unsafe, and when pedestrians and cyclists walk and bike in and around our work zones. These distractions can be dangerous when our concentration needs to be on the mower and the task at hand.
